| Alex and Libby, Surry Hills, Victoria  We have just returned from out trip across the country. We travelled form Melbourne to Darwin via Innamincka, Birdsville, Mt Isa and across the Gulf and then home via Alice Springs and across the Oodnadatta track.
The trailer ran like a dream, we got more dust and water in the Discovery than in the trailer. At times it was hard to believe we were towing the trailer, it ran so well. After the first few days Libby and I found we could set-up camp in a matter of minutes, we are true experts now. The extra depth on the tonneau cover was also a great bonus, as we were able to get all the bedding (ie 3 sleeping bags, pillows, donna and the kids stretchers) on top of our bed.
You can’t possible sell another safari without the gas struts on the lid, they are essential (we were the envy of many other trailer campers).
We only saw one other Trackabout camper on our whole journey, an English family travelling for 18 months, from Brisbane. |
