From Humble Beginnings...

Back in 2001, John Vezos walked into Trackabout and purchased a Camper Trailer, little did he know that less than six months later he would be the new owner of the business.

With John’s passion for camping, off road racing, outback adventures and meeting fellow travellers and of course a background in manufacturing, it was an easy transition for him.

The first step was to relocate the business from its 60m2 shed out the back of a car yard in Coopers Plains to a 400m2 facility in Moss St, Slacks Creek, just south of Brisbane, Queensland.

With one employee, one half busted welder and about two thousand dollars worth of hand tools, a lot of hard work, a few sleepless nights and a beer or two later, the re-born Trackabout was up and running.

John wasn’t interested in what others had to say, nor was he too worried about where the business sat in the market place. His total focus was to provide "Quality Product, Excellent Customer Service and Value for Money”...the rest is history.

Trackabout Off Road Campers has evolved into Australia’s Ultimate Off Road Camper Trailer providing our customers with a Lifestyle full of Camper Trailer Adventures travelling from the Outback to the Sea.

Unlike many of our competitors who choose to manufacture, or at the least, assemble off shore, Trackabout continues to be Australian Made.


In our 1000m2 facility, we employ over 20 qualified tradespeople. In our tent factory we use the Defence Department specified Australian Dynaproofed Canvas. Our trailers are constructed from the ground up in our onsite welding and engineering factory all supported by our admin department, all based in Moss Street, Slacks Creek on the south side of Brisbane, Queensland. 

Over the years we have built many thousands of heavy duty camper trailers that are renowned for their value for money and premium quality all supported by excellent customer service.

Trackabout Off Road Campers are chosen by many astute business owners in the Camper Trailer Hire Industry due to their ease of setup, strength and durability. Trackabout Campers have also featured on many TV shows and magazines over the years and in 2011 took out runner up in the Camper Trailer Australia magazine's "Camper Trailer of the Year" awards - something we’re very proud of.
